Lisa has decided that my time is worth at least $100/hr. At least that was our agreed upon rate for my contracting job (which may or may not happen). So now whenever I do something with someone other than her she keeps saying she'll bill them. I guess a little extra income wouldn't hurt :-)

I just read a rather interesting article. It's about writing a good blog, something which I know nothing about. I write about my experiences and sometimes my thoughts, neither of which should be compared to great writing. As much as the article convicts me of needing to clean up my style, I've decided that I'm not a literary master in hidding and should let my disjointed, random collection of thoughts flow from the floodgates.

That said, I didn't use one eplises in the whole post! I'm no master, but I can have goals :-)

Back to the grindstone.

Whew, what a weekend.

I took friday off work so I could be at the hospital when David and Leah's baby was born. The baby was born saturday morning at ~9:30am...a good 27 hours after I showed up. I didn't get any sleep while I was there...just lots of waiting...and worrying...and talking...

Elijah David Clark was 9 pounds 6 ounces...I finally got to see him around 7pm on Saturday...he's big and soft. I'm now officially Uncle Doug...and my grandparents are now Great Grandparents....wow.

Then on Sunday night I was called into work...apparently we were going to miss our deadline today...so I went in around 5:30 and left at 12:30a. And I'm about to leave for work....have a good day.

It looks like we're going to make our milestone at work...which means monday is a Dave'n'Busters party for the group...w00t.

My quest to get a new hat is still going. My 10 year old hat died recently, so I need a new signature hat...so far all shopping attempts have failed.

Leah's going to be induced tomorrow morning...wow. So around 7 or 8 tomorrow night I'll be an uncle....guess I better bust out the cigars.

Well, It's almost March and still no postings...geez 3 months flew by...again.

I've decided to start posting again. I now have an internet connection so I'm without excuse. I wonder how many people will actually notice that I'm back from the dead...

It's time to do some catch-up...a lot has happened since 11/29/01 and 2/2/02. Readers Digest version:

I got married on Dec 22, 2001....weeeee...had a nice, relaxing honeymoon and then went back to work.

On the work front our deadline is 8 weeks away so we've been working feverishly for the past month trying to get everything ready for alpha testing. I got promoted a couple weeks ago to "Lead Developer" on my team. So now people call it "doug's team"...which is a nice feeling. With the promotion came a salary increase...woohoo!

My brother and his wife are still expecting their baby any day now...c'mon baby!

Lisa (my wonderful wife) has an infected wisdom tooth which is killing her, so she's going to have them removed over spring break. Until then she's on painkillers and antibiotics.

Programming misc stuff is still my hobby, and I've decided to try and help Kolb maintain his picture site...through automation of course. So eventually Kolb will have a handy-dandy tool to help him create his thumbnails, captions, etc. automagically....designed to his specifications.
I was thinking about asking Kolb to setup my site with comments and things...as long as it's easy to post :-)

I'm sure I'm leaving out something major...e-mail me if you remember something I don't. :-)
